Wordless Wednesday

Front Porch Knitting

The summer here in Michigan has been on the cool side, but the evenings have been glorious: cool and breezy and perfect for knitting on my front porch after the dinner dishes have been done: That's the back of my Central Park Hoodie, coming along nicely!, knit with Cascade 220. On the table you can see my new iPod Touch, and the KnitBuddy app is perfect for keeping track of row counts, project notes and pictures of my WIPs. Oh, and the evening glass of red wine doesn't hurt either.

February Baby Sweater

Wow, I am finally posting about a finished knitting project! This is the February Baby Sweater from Elizabeth Zimmerman's book Knitters Almanac. I have actually knit this same sweater in an adult size for myself, and all that one needs is to sew a couple of seams, weave in the ends and sew on the buttons and then I can show it too. I've decided that I am really a process knitter: I love the knitting, and I'm so-so about the actual finished product. Guess that's why I like to knit for babies, the projects are faster to knit, limited finishing and SO CUTE when done! Check out these cute little lion buttons! I explained to my niece (who is expecting baby Maia in early Sept) that they are 'vintage', since they are from my button stash of kiddie buttons that I have from when I sewed/knit for my kids, who are now in their twenties!
