Vogue 8553

I had the last week out of the office while my husband, son and I had a little 'stay-cation'. It was nice to be home without a lot of commitments, and we were able to spend some time getting caught up on some things around the house, and I got to spend some time in my sewing room. This gave me the chance to cut out and sew Vogue 8553 out of fabric that I picked up a couple of weeks ago on my visit to Chicago. This is a lovely, drapey knit from Vogue Fabrics that was a pleasure to sew with, and although I don't usually wear grey (I think it makes me look washed out), I loved the print and can see it worn with a yellow or  green sweater. This may be the dress I'll wear to my youngest's graduation from high school next month....we'll see!

  1. Nice job, Patty! I love your dress, and think I might add that pattern to the "wish list"! A pop of color with the sweater (or shoes) will be perfect!

  4. So glad to have found your blog! Thanks for the comment--and truly how could a 1972 pattern be vintage? We will call it baby vintage!
I love your vogue dress. I bought the pattern because I love the lines but I am not big on sewing knits--you have inspired me!
