Hot Patterns 1090

I think I have my sewing mojo back now that I've made the HotPatterns 1090 Classix Nouveau Uptown Downtown Knit Dress! This dress lives up to it's billing as a beginner knit dress pattern, and is quick and easy, especially with the help of the YouTube video put up by the designer, Trudy. At first I wanted to make this all in the gray fabric, but I didn't have enough yardage. So with that 'design opportunity' I forged ahead making the skirt portion in some black lycra I purchased last summer at Vogue Fabrics in Chicago, and the top portion in the gray knit from Gorgeous Fabrics. I kinda like the two piece look! And, wow, is it comfortable to wear! I can see another one of these in my future.

  4. Hello Patty,
I know this was a while ago! I'm just wondering if you think I'd be able to cut the smallest size out of 2yds of fabric 55" wide... I have separate ribbing. I know often the cutting layouts are not the most efficient, and you can get away with less fabric than they say. What do you think?
    Thanks for your help!
