Summer 2014...busy, busy!

Hard to believe that today is August 21....the summer is flying by. Here at Casa Pozolo it is Wedding Planning Central with 3 of our 4 children engaged to be married:

Libby & Terry to be married on 11/15/2014:

Kenny & Cassie to be married on 6/6/2015:

Kristen & Brett to be married on 8/22/2015:

                                                          The 3 Brides-to-be!:

I haven't had much sewing or knitting to blog about as some of it is Top Secret, tho I have managed to make a garment or knit a stitch here and there! This was the first year I entered our local fair, with 2 quilts, a knitted shawl and knitted baby dress. I always enjoy viewing the projects entered by many talented individuals, so I thought this year I would participate.

We did get a little camping in, with our annual family camp out with the Pozolo side of the family....always fun!

Hosting a wedding shower for our daughter and her fiance a couple of weeks ago kept us busy, too. There is no shortage of inspiration available now with Pinterist, Google, etc, so crafting the invitations, decorations and favors was easy and fun too. We got to use the flowers from our garden for the centerpieces, a natural touch. The petit fours at each place setting were a hit, thanks to Kristie at Delicious Petite Sweets. Each guest also got to take home a handmade cosmetic bag....I think I can make those now in my sleep!

I do have a couple of sewing projects in the works, wrapping things up with summer sewing and on to Fall/Winter projects.
Stay tuned!

  3. Are those Armada fair ribbons? I entered the state fair a few years before it folded and received a best of show. When we attended the fair and I saw the rosette on my afghan I almost cried. Fairs are such and old-timey validation of our skills and a connection to the generations of women before us. They would be proud that we have carried on these crafts and traditions. Congratulations on the blue ribbon and everything else!

    1. Yes, the ribbons are from last week's Armada Fair ;-) How cool that you were awarded a Best of Show at the State Fair....I miss going to that one, too. Like you, I appreciate the traditions that get handed down. Thanks for your kind words :-)
